About Grandad's Miniatures

Some time ago, before he retired, Grandad (Brian Taylor) had a conversation with his Granddaughter Izzy about the quality of the items she had bought for her doll's house. Izzy complained to her Grandad that none of the bowls and pots had lids which fitted properly and they all looked like they had been made quickly and without any care.

Grandad couldn't resist the challenge - he had to try and make better creations for Izzy's house! Even though the pieces Grandad produces are exquisite and tiny, he uses a full-sized lathe. As the bug bit him hard (and Izzy kept coming up with new ideas!) Grandad equipped himself with the tools he needed to perfect his products - he makes his own tools to suit each new technique he develops.

In order to keep himself challenged, Grandad is constantly innovating and inventing new techniques and effects for his pieces. He has to create his own tools as well, because the perfect ones just don't exist!
